EDUCATION & EMPLOYMENT
1972
Graduated from the 4 year Communication & Design programme at the Ontario College of Art, Toronto

1972 - 1973
Junior designer & production artist, Typsettra Ltd., Toronto.
Learned the basics of typography, hand lettering and mechanical assembly under typographer Les Usherwood.

1973 - 1977
Associate Art Director, Chatelaine magazine. Publisher: Maclean-Hunter Ltd. Assisted in the complete redesign of the magazine for the changeover from letterpress to offset lithographic printing. Acting art director for most of 1977 while A.D. Evelyn Stoynoff was on leave of absence.

1977 - 1979
Art Director, The City magazine. Publisher: Torstar Inc.
Complete magazine format design and art direction for this weekly Sunday supplement of the Toronto Star.

1980 - 1982
Art Director, City Woman. Publisher: Comac Communications Ltd.
Won a Gold & Silver National Magazine Award for Art Direction and Fashion Features

1982 - 1986
Consulting Art Director, Saturday Night magazine
Won 4 Gold & Silver National Magazine Awards for Art Direction and Cover Design. In 1984 Saturday Night was named Magazine of the Year, for its outstanding editorial and visual quality.

1982 - 1995
Founding partner & Creative Director, Reactor Art & Design Ltd.
Continued to work on editorial projects ( T.O. magazine, Executive, Commentator) as well as a wide variety of design projects for clients, including: Roots Canada, Bata Retail, Adobe Systems, Alias Research, SoftKey Software Publishers, Canada Post and Molson Breweries.

1997 - 1998
Senior Design Consultant, Sympatico Internet Service
Directed the design and implimentation of site-wide interface and branding makeover for Canada's largest Internet service provider.

2001-Present
Consulting Creative Director, adbeast.
Branding, promotion and interface design for provider of online workflow tools to the advertising and tvc production industries.

2003 - 2006
Consulting Creative Director, Alias Systems.
Responsible for all branding, packaging, marketing, advertising and corporate communications for the Oscar-winning developer of 3D software.

2007 - 2008
Acting Art Director, Toronto Life magazine.
